Staff and Associate Alumni Spotlight #6

Scott Schiff
1998-1999, Program Leader

Recreation Unlimited Experience:
“Where do I start?  Professionally I believe my RU experience helped build the person I am today.  Learning teamwork, trust, responsibility, making a positive difference in others’ lives, passion, having a job that is far more than a paycheck, my time with Recreation Unlimited was such a rewarding experience.  Personally, I grew in so many ways.  I learned sleep is overrated.  I perfected the craft of making campfire s’mores.  I overcame my exaggerated fear of heights…thanks to Dave Hudler and the Tower.   I gained confidence.  I developed strong and meaningful relationships, with staff, and with campers, many of whom I’m still in contact with today.  The friendships made during those summer months have stuck with me 20+ years later.  We have a common bond that will always be special to me.   Recreation Unlimited will always hold a place in my heart.  Thank you for doing this and developing ways for us to keep in touch and remember those unforgettable experiences!”

Experience Impact:
“I am currently Vice President, Business Operations, Motor City Cruise (NBA Detroit Pistons G-League affiliate).”
