Six Weeks of Summer Day Camp Offered

Summer Day Camps are open to youth and teens (ages 5-22) with developmental and/or physical disabilities and health concerns, as well as their siblings without disabilities. This inclusive experience allows typical siblings to attend camp together and promotes growth in a fun and challenging environment. Recreation Unlimited is a smoke free campus.

Ages for Youth Day Camps are 5 – 12 Years old.
Ages for Teen Day Camps are 13 – 22 years old.

Summer Day Camps provide a full schedule of activities, lunch and snack, counselors, program leaders, on-site nursing care and a new adventure every day. Examples of program activities include swimming, fishing, canoeing, climbing, sports, archery, creekin’, nature exploration, arts and crafts, cooking, theater, campfire, dancing and more!

A fully equipped Health Services Center and Nurses Quarters with a team of nurses that administer all camper medications and medical treatments are provided.

All meals and snacks are provided with healthy choices available. Special diets can be accommodated. Items such as Recreation Unlimited sweatshirts and t-shirts are available at the camp store for purchase that enables the campers to go home with a souvenir from camp. Summer Day Camps are Monday through Friday. Arrival time is 9:00 a.m. and departure time is 4:00 p.m. daily.

Fees and Funding

Based on the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities reimbursement schedule for Medicaid Waivers, the Summer Day Camp published fee is currently $450, plus if the registration and application is completed online, a one-time, annual registration fee of $35 will be required. If you prefer to fill out and mail in a paper registration and application, a one-time, annual registration fee of $45 will be required.

Campers may qualify for scholarship assistance based on request and individual need.  In addition, financial assistance from county or state agencies, or local service organizations may be available.  Level One Waiver, Individual Options Waiver and SELF Waiver may also be used to pay your camp fees. Please contact your service coordinator to have camp fees added to your Individual Service Plan. Otherwise, contact the relevant government agency or local service organization for specific funding information.  In addition, campers using a waiver to pay for camp will be responsible for a Program Fee which is currently $95.00*. Scholarship funding for the program fee may be available.

Registration

Acceptance to camp is based on review and approval of the camper application, physical form completed and signed by your physician, and camp capacities.  Level One Waiver, Individual Options Waiver, Self Waiver and Family Resources money cannot be used to pay the one-time, annual registration fee of $35/$45.
